Old age is a sensitive period in which examining various dimensions of mental health becomes very important. Today, it has become more and more clear that elderly people can adapt to exercise and develop or improve their physical work capacity. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of eight weeks of Pilates training on psychological capital and body image of elderly women in Dezful city. The research method was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of the study was all elderly women in Dezful city in 1403. The sample size of the study included 30 elderly people (65 to 75 years old) who were selected using a convenience sampling method and based on the study entry criteria and were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. The experimental group received Pilates training in eight 90-minute weekly sessions. The scales used in this study included Luthans's Psychological Capital and Marsh's Body Self-Description Scale. The data were analyzed by univariate analysis of covariance using SPSS version 22 software. The results showed that by controlling the pre-test effect in the post-test phase, there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the variables of psychological capital and body image (p<0.001). Based on the findings of this study, eight weeks of Pilates training improves the psychological capital and body image of elderly women and represents new horizons in psychological interventions and can be used as an effective intervention method in improving the psychological capital and body image of elderly women.
