The present research was conducted with the aim of explaining social adequacy in the elderly based on the theory of mind with the mediation of life skills. The research method used in in this research was correlation of structural equations. The measurement tools used in this research include the three social adequacy questionnaires of Flenner (1990), Qumrani et al.'s Theory of Mind Questionnaire (2008) and Yahya Yar Ahmadi's Life Skills Questionnaire (2009). In this study, Morgan's table and multi-stage cluster sampling method were used to obtain a statistical sample. In addition to the descriptive statistics of the statistical sample, the statistical methods used in this research included K-S tests, correlation matrix, and structural equation modeling. also To analyze the data and draw the model required for the research we used two softwares which were SPSS version twenty three (23) and Lisrel software version 8.8 . The results of this research show that there is a direct relationship between theory of mind and social competence and life skills , and we also see a direct relationship between theory of mind and social competence. Also the results showed that life skills have an indirect relationship between theory of mind and social competence. Another result of this research was that there is a positive and significant relationship between life skills and social adequacy.Therefore the result of all the findings of this research is that life skills play a mediating role in the relationship between theory of mind and social competence of the elderly.
