توانمندی شناختی سالمندان: نقش خودفراروی، خود شفقت ورزی و عاطفه مثبت

چکیده

افزایش سن و آغاز سالمندی با تغییرات گریزناپذیر در توانمندی شناختی همراه می باشد. بنابراین با توجه به سالمندی جمعیت و اهمیت کارکردهای شناختی در این دوره سنی حساس، شناسایی عوامل مؤثر بر توانمندی شناختی سالمندان در جهت تقویت کارکردهای شناختی آنها سزاوار توجه می باشد. از این رو پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی نقش خودفراروی، خود شفقت ورزی و عاطفه مثبت در پیش بینی توانمندی شناختی سالمندان صورت پذیرفت. روش پژوهش حاضر توصیفی از نوع همبستگی بود. جامعه آماری این پژوهش شامل تمامی سالمندان (60 تا 70 سال) شهر کرمان در سال 1398 بود. نمونه پژوهش شامل 208 سالمند بود که با استفاده از روش نمونه گیری دردسترس از کانون بازنشستگان استان کرمان انتخاب شدند. ابزار پژوهش شامل پرسشنامه های توانمندی شناختی نجاتی،  شفقت ورزی نف و خودفراروی لوینسون و همکاران بود. داده های گردآوری شده با استفاده از ضریب همبستگی پیرسون و تحلیل رگرسیون چندگانه مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفتند. نتایج نشان داد خودفراروی، خودشفقت ورزی و عاطفه مثبت با توانمندی شناختی سالمندان رابطه مثبت معناداری دارند (01/0p <). نتایج تحلیل رگرسیون نیز حاکی از آن بود که خودفراروی و عاطفه مثبت می توانند توانمندی شناختی سالمندان را پیش بینی کنند (01/0p <)، در حالیکه خود شفقت ورزی قادر به پیش بینی توانمندی شناختی سالمندان نبود. بنابراین با تکیه بر یافتههای پژوهش حاضر، به نظر می رسد بتوان با بهره گیری از فنون درمانی مبتنی بر نظریه خودفراروی و فراهم نمودن مداخلات درمانی مبتنی بر افزایش عاطفه مثبت در جهت تقویت توانمندی های شناختی و پیشگیری از نارسایی های شناختی سالمندان اقدام نمود.

Cognitive Ability in the Elderly: The Role of Self-Transcendence, Self-Compassion and Positive Affect

چکیده [English]

Aging is associated with unavoidable changes in cognitive abilities. Therefore, considering the aging of the population and the importance of cognitive functions at this sensitive age, identifying the factors affecting cognitive ability among elderly to strengthen their cognitive functions deserves attention. The present study aimed to investigate the role of self-transcendence, self-compassion and positive affect in predicting cognitive ability in elderly. It was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population of this study included all elderly (60 to 70 year) in Kerman from 2019 to 2020. 208 elderly participants were selected using convenience sampling from Kerman Province Retirement Association. The research instruments were Nejati Cognitive Ability Questionnaire, Neff Compassion Scale, and Levinson Self-Transcendence Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The results of Pearson correlation coefficient showed the significant positive relationship between self-transcendence and cognitive ability in the elderly. Besides, a significant positive relationship was reported between self-compassion and cognitive ability in the elderly. Furthermore, these results also suggested a significant positive relationship between positive affect and cognitive ability in elderly. The results of regression analysis also showed that self-transcendence and positive affect can positively predict cognitive ability in elderly. However, self-compassion was not a predictor of cognitive ability in elderly. Therefore, using therapeutic techniques based on self-transcendence theory and providing therapeutic interventions based on increasing positive affect, it is possible to promote cognitive ability and prevent cognitive failures in elderly.
